Both offer similar performance characteristics, so the decision comes down to how you want to maintain your filter.

Cotton (Cleanable) 8 layer cotton filter media with red oil. Can be Cleaned and re-oiled. Easy to maintain using S&B Precision II Cleaning Kit.
